ECOMP - confusing error when uploading to your OWCP file

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

If you are using ECOMP to upload a document to your federal workers compensation case (FECA), and you receive the error message below, it is likely you did not properly type in either your file number, last name, date of birth or date of injury:

ECOMP appears to log you in, but if you look carefully, you will see that your header information is blank:

If your information is not listed at the top of the screen, you are not actually logged in, and you will not be able to upload documents. So check your inputs. If everything is correct, there is one other remote possibility--OWCP may have wrong information in their computer system. For example, I’ve encountered this problem when a client’s first and last names were reversed when their case was created. I have also seen this problem when “Jr” was used (or not used). But its usually a problem that I have input the wrong date of birth of date of injury. Good luck!

Was Stephen Maturo MD the DMA in your OWCP claim?

I have seen three DMA memos in hearing loss cases by this physician and in EVERY case he invented a reason to reduce the claimant's hearing loss or simply say that the hearing loss is not work related
